Prescott Crocker

Prescott “Pres” Crocker serves as senior portfolio manager of several of the firm’s key investment strategies including natural resources and mid-cap growth.
Prior to working in the mutual fund management industry, Pres worked in investment banking for Advest Company and T. A. Associates. He was a founder of the Colonial Management Company where he worked for 18 years as analyst and portfolio manager specializing in High Yield securities, international currency denominated sovereign bonds, US treasury bonds with derivatives, and precious metals and natural resources. At Colonial he created entirely new concept investment mutual funds, such as the Colonial Government Securities Plus Trust and the Colonial Inter-market Income Trust. These products also specialized in the application of derivatives to modify investment characteristics and enhance yield. Following Colonial Management, after a brief threes years as President and fund manager of the Advest Co. mutual fund company, he joined the Evergreen Investment Management Company where he managed similar investment products with the addition of a precious metals stock fund.
Pres has appeared on the cover of Barron’s and in many other investing publications. He was also the author for many years of a popular column in the Boston Business Journal where he covered capital markets. Pres is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Business School.
